This past week a very dear friend came to visit for a few days (that's the charm of living in a summer paradise like Costa Rica...everyone wants to visit when it is winter up north). Needless to say, we had a great time with very few hours of rest. While I get all the pictures from our adventures shorted out (we repelled down a 40 feet waterfall!) so I can post them in the blogosphere, I thought I would share some of my favorite images from two very fun blogs: book shelf porn and downtown from behind. That last sentence sounds like a dirty joke but I swear these two blogs are fantastic!
Bookshelf porn compiles pictures of gorgeous book shelves, libraries, book displays and anything else that celebrates the joy of reading and the literary art.
A bookshelf that opens into a secret room, every child's (or my own) dream!
Another one of my dreams: a library with a ladder to reach even the highest selves, so I can stack up books all the way to the ceiling.
Meanwhile, the folks from Downtown from Behind have fun snapping pictures of NY City residents riding their bikes. A great way to celebrate the City and green alternatives to driving.
I love how graceful and dramatic this picture is. Props to this very stylish red-head for riding even in the freezing cold!
I wonder who those flowers are being delivered to.... Uhmmm....

books and bicycles?! what could be more dreamy?! :) seriously, i love beautiful photos of books and bikes like these. they're so inspirational.
ReplyDeleteI want that first room. Just tell me where to go to steal it. And I can't wait to get back to NYC so I can buy myself a bike. I worry I might be too afraid to ride it (those taxis are vicious) but I'll try!
ReplyDeleteI love the bike photo collection! I CAN'T WAIT to ride mine!
ReplyDeleteLovely images! I have an obsession with vintage bikes - they are so pretty! Hoping to own one soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a lovely weekend!
