This Thursday at midnight is the premiere of the last Harry Potter movie, like many others, I feel I sort of grew up with the books and movies, but specially with the books. I was a teenager when they first came out and remember reading each book in pretty much one sitting, and then, re-reading them to my little brother. I used to even make different voices for the characters! Needless to say, the ending of the book series was quite emotional and I feel this last movie will be as well. So here are some of my favorite HP links, amongst other literature-related links for the week.
- This post from the funny gals at Gofugyourself makes me love Emma Watson even more! She looked gorgeous in that Oscar de la Renta gown, right?
- This slideshow and accompanying article are a great peak at what it takes to bring magic to the big screen.
-Another interesting slideshow from NYT on Harry Potter: An Exhibition. I really hope I get to see this exhibit at some point!
-If you need to fill the (reading) void left from the HP series, I recommend taking a look at this Best Summer Reads picked by independent bookstores owners on NPR...
-... and for the foodies out there, this list of recommended cook books aims to bring the cooking experience back to basics. "Fresh and Fast Vegetarian" is definitely going in my must-have list.
Just look at how much these kids have grown. I cannot wait 'til Friday!

I recently saw a picture of Hermione at the very first premiere and she was soooo young and soooo whack in some sack of a dress. My how the years have flown by!

I'm excited for the new movie too. And I agree, Emma Watson is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I always wished I got into Harry Potter at an early age, but never did. But I guess it's never too late to start! Btw, how lovely is Emma Watson turning out to be?? I wish more actresses her age were as poised!
ReplyDeleteOoh I want to see the movie too and wow Emma Watson, just wow!

I have the other vegetarian one on the list, Heidi Swanson's Super Natural Every Day...and I also own 'Radically Simple' (really pretty dishes and they're all easy too).
ReplyDeleteEmma Watson is on the cover of this month's Vogue issue. I love all the burgundy and golds (they did a fall issue already) but I loved her poise and presence the most.. she's growing up so well!
ReplyDeleteI just read the latest copy of Vogue, with Emma Watson on the cover... And not only is she so beautiful and fashionable, she's really intelligent as well! It's inspiring.. Also giving me some jealousy!
ReplyDeleteThis movie is going to be epic! I can't wait to see it! I grew up with the books as well and I always re-read them! xoxoxoxo
