1930's Inspiration

A few days ago I went to see "Water for Elephants", although I have not read the book, I really enjoyed the movie. I must admit, I could not watch some of the violent images (I can't handle violence against animals at all), but overall I thought it was a very good movie.

I specially enjoyed Reeses's acting and the costuming! Needless to say, the gorgeous outfits have really made me turn an eye towards 1930's style inspiration and, coincidentally,  the Chanel 2011 Resort collection seems to have taken some cues from that decade as well. So I have compiled some of my favorite looks from both the movie and the collection.

I think Reese is made for period pieces, don't you agree?

Pilar

  3. I have yet to see the movie but I can tell that they did a great job with Reese's 1930's wardrobe. There's something incredibly modern about them despite the period.. I love Chanel's resort looks here. Everything looks so softly feminine.

  9. Really like your comparisons of looks from the movie and the latest collection. I've never experiment with 30s fashion, but I definitely want to now! I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read the book and if the movie is anything like the book I know i'll love it.
